Serena nominated for German Design Award

New Arzberg pattern nominated for German Design Award 2016

May 28th 2015

The Arzberg collection Serena Dark and Light has now been nominated for the German Design Award 2016 in the category “Excellent Product Design“. The convincingly designed pattern of the new Arzberg décor inspired by the floral motifs of the 1920s caught the jury’s eye. Created by a thin white line, it evokes the classic floral motifs of the Art Nouveau style, while the defining solid line is reminiscent of the Tiffany leaded-glass technique so typical of the period, where the contours and design of the stained glass were edged with thin metal strips.

The German Design Award is the international premium prize of the German Design Council. Its goal: discovering, presenting and awarding unique design trends. Every year, top-quality submissions from product and communications design are awarded, all of which are in their own way ground-breaking in the international design landscape. The German Design Award is already one of the best-known design competitions in the world and is held in high regard well beyond professional circles.

The winners of the German Design Award 2016 will be announced next year at Ambiente (12th – 16th February 2016) in Frankfurt.
