The extra-thick porcelain, the soft lines and the 5 mm-wide base of the plates, saucers and bowls define the striking look of the design. A truly unique feature are the two blossom-shaped platters, which can be put to new uses time and time again: as a tray for coffeetime, to hold a variety of dips in their little bowls, or for desserts. Let your imagination run wild! One thing’s sure – they will make a professional impression every time.
In 1931, the porcelain factory Arzberg launched a range of tableware that was to revolutionized the world of fine china: “Form 1382”. Dr. Hermann Gretsch’s design made history. It must be said that when Arzberg launched the “Original” in 1931, the word design did not exist either as a term or a concept. Yet his design became the template for Arzberg’s philosophy of “good design” and sealed Arzberg’s reputation as a design brand. To this day, its simple and practical form is still captivating. ”Form 1382“ is a consummate marriage of aesthetics and function, ”something good which is immune to the changing moods of fashion“, as it was described back in 1931.
TRIC is a winning combination of porcelain, glass and plastic. Multifunctionality was paramount to designer Michael Sieger when he was developing the form. For example, four of the six cups fit on one saucer without so much as a wobble – even when stacked one on top of the other. Another inspired aspect of TRIC is the combination of porcelain pieces with patented plastic vacuum lids, which seal the aroma of the food in the bowls and dishes. There are also practical cloches for the serving platters. Which means everything stays nice and fresh!
